DUKE'S WATERMAN CENTENARY PADDLES
A Celebration Participation / Heritage Paddle and Races across all skill levels and board disciplines On the morning 10 January 2015 the Freshwater Surfing Community will be celebrating the 100 year anniversary of the Duke Kahanamoku Surfing at Freshwater Beach. There will be many local and Hawaiian Surfing Celebrities providing surfing and swimming displays over the course the event, however, the DUKE'S WATERMAN CENTENARY PADDLE EVENTS will be your opportunity to celebrate the Duke. This event will compromise of two paddles/races and their start times will enable participants to paddle in both events: 1. A BOP short or long course paddle - in and out of the surf and around the designated course in Freshwater Bay Short: 2km for recreational Aloha racers starting outside the break Long: 5km for serious Duke racers 2. World Surfing Reserve course - a 5km race around the beautiful and historic Freshwater- Manly World Surfing Reserve. PRIZES ON THE DAY: A paddle board is being provided as the major prize for these races and will be part of a prize draw that all competitors will receive raffle tickets for on the day after online registration. Race winners will be given extra tickets in the prize draw, with further prizes to be announced. |
