See their personal clips, hear their moments of awe and ask them all you want to know about how they do it while the waves (and surfers) crash down around them. Hosted with thanks at Bennetts' new Brooky Surf Club surrounded by incredible memorabilia, the tales will be outstanding! Jack McCoy Award Winning Director, Producer & Cinematographer and long-term friend of Duke's Day. Jack has worked with some of the biggest legends of the surfing world and managed to capture some of the most important and key moments in the history of the sport. Having travelled extensively, his footage is diverse and exotic, featuring some of the first ever vision captured at locations such as Hawaii, Tahiti, Indonesia, Maldives, Mentawais, South America and here in Australia. "Throughout my travels, the cultures, landscapes, wildlife and locals captivated me just as much as the action in the water."
A storyteller at heart! Dave Fox well known for filming the cult classic 'Motel Hell'; a collaboration with Harry Bryant described as equal parts horror and surf thrill. Filming on locations from South Australia to Ireland and Morroco and conscious to capture "the magical film look to really take you into that world. It was important to me to shoot on old cameras with old lenses to get that old fashioned and low fi feel."
Feeling capture, adventures a plenty! Hannah Anderson has been surfing for 20 years and shooting for at least the last ten. A full time professional, she has filmed and photographed a wide range of people, places and waves, from Indonesia, the Maldives, Europe, Fiji, Tahiti, Hawaii, California and Australia. She specialises in water action, though she has shot the full range, from on the spot highly personal documentary style (Eddie Aikau Invitational 2023) to water/ski work (Olympic Games Teahupo’o 2024).
Andrew Gough is a Cinematographer and Underwater Camera Operator. Currently residing on the South Coast of NSW Andy's career started at a young age shooting sailing and surfing from the water. Now he finds himself working on film projects across the globe both as a water camera operator and cinematographer. His career has seen his involvement in documentaries, music videos, commercials and feature films . In 2023 he and Director Matthew Thorne were awarded a Silver Bear at the 73rd Berlinale and the 2023 Documentary Australia Award. most recently he was involved in Australian Director Justin Kurzel's Amazon Series, 'Narrow Road to the Deep North' as the A-Camera Operator and Underwater Camera Operator"
